This chapter examines the Coptic Manichaean library discovered at the Madinat Madi site in the Fayoum Oasis in Egypt. Manichaeism was a dualistic religion founded in Mesopotamia in the third century AD by Mani or Manichaios. He used missionary work to convince the whole world of his knowledge. This chapter explains the contents of the seven codices found in Fayoum and compares its meanings with the doctrines of other religions.
