This chapter focuses on the monastery known under the names ‘Isisberg’ Monastery, Dayr al-Shaykha, and Dayr al-Kubbaniya, which is located to the northwest of Aswan along the riverside. It was partly excavated in 1911 but it is presently covered by sand again. Recent photographs offer a view of the monastic site in its present state and show the remains of the largest building, which has been described but not excavated.
